There are many things we often take for granted because of the service of military veterans in the United States of America. Because of their service, they have helped fight to keep democracy and freedom. This is more than just so we can spend time with our loved ones and have the freedom to choose how we live, where we live, and who we live with. It is also so that we have opportunities to work in the careers we want to work in, to start a business as an entrepreneur, and to have better working conditions, pay, benefits, and equality in the workplace.

Don’t take our democracy and freedom for granted. It is important to find a work-life balance so that you can enjoy a quality of life that comes with democracy and freedom. Maintain that balance by continuously evaluating your time management and taking the lead to find ways to humanize your workplace.

Why? Because it is our social responsibility to our community to help everyone thrive and enjoy a reasonable quality of life. While many people are struggling to get a job or make ends meet, there are also too many peopleĀ  working long hours, under high stress and dealing with pressure to meet unrealistic goals at work. They are lacking the benefits to have a decent lifestyle. The success of a business relies on good decisions in time management to maximize productivity while providing a workplace community where people want to work, feel safe, and can maintain a decent quality of life with a reasonable salary and work schedule. it’s called social sustainability and is being socially responsible.

Wherever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision. ~ Peter DruckerFinding that work-life balance at work requires leadership and takes courage. It is the thought of courage that our veterans had that can motivate us. Also, look for motivation in the following quotes on courage and bravery:

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’

Eleanor Roosevelt

One isn’t necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can’t be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest.

Maya Angelou

There is a certain enthusiasm in liberty that makes human nature rise above itself, in acts of bravery and heroism.

Alexander Hamilton

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.

T.S. Eliot

Courage is being scared to death… and saddling up anyway.

John Wayne

Remember that to create a healthy, happy workplace, treat people the way you want to be treated and show respect. And then carry that treatment and respect with you into the community. Be socially responsible.
